Do you accept new patients? We’re always accepting new patients, with or without insurance! We pride ourselves on friends and family referrals around here but welcome newcomers to town and folks who haven’t seen a dentist in awhile also.
We file claims with ANY insurance company on behalf of our patients as a courtesy and also participate with several particular companies (ie we’re in-network).
Every insurance company varies, and there are often multiple plans with different benefits and requirements within a larger insurance company that your employer has selected from. Our staff are on hand to help you sort through these sometimes confusing details from the very beginning right through more extensive treatment.
We offer financing through CareCredit with offers of zero-interest or low-interest for various terms.
Most patients should have a hygienist clean their teeth every six months and also receive an oral cancer screening and checkup with the doctor. Some patients’ gingival conditions warrant more frequent cleanings. An initial examination will help us customize your treatment.
You can call the office to receive a list of fees for your first visit. If you have dental insurance that covers preventative services, we can estimate how much out-of-pocket expense (if any) you can expect at your first visit (please have your insurance card/details ready to provide over the phone).
Yes, we see children! Most parents bring their 3-4 year old in for the first time to observe the parent’s cleaning as an easy, fun time and then we might work on a “happy visit” at the parent’s next cleaning. We’ll count the child’s teeth and maybe use a toothbrush to do a little spot cleaning. A good, first few experiences is our aim.
We take pride in taking time with patients who have some form of dental anxiety. We know the dentist’s chair is not everyone’s favorite destination, but we will directly address your concerns on an individual basis. Additionally, there are medications that can help ease the anxiety prior to a dental treatment.
Typically, we take bitewing xrays once a year. Bitewings help us see hidden decay between your teeth and below the surface as well as check your bone levels around the teeth to monitor your gum health. We take a panoramic xray (helps us check for abscesses, cancer, and monitor trends over time) once every 3-5 years.
Our staff will make every effort to schedule your appointment in a timely manner. Patients with dental emergencies (broken teeth, swelling/pain, trauma) are usually scheduled on the same day during the week. Also, there is always a dentist on call 24/7 for emergencies. If you are an established patient of record with our office, call the regular office number (910.762.0958) when an emergency arises and you will be instructed on how to reach the dentist on call. If you are not an established patient of record and an emergency arises, proceed to the nearest emergency room.
