Dr. Barry Frazelle
Dr. Frazelle is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in Zoology and Dentistry. After graduating in 1987, Dr. Frazelle joined Dr. Bernie Morgan, former and now retired senior member of Atlantic Dental Group, in the practice of dentistry. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association and Wilmington Tri-County Dental Society, of which he was President in 1993.
Dr. Frazelle currently attends Port City Community Church and participates in local and international dental outreach. He trains several times a year at the Spears Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona for Esthetically Driven and Occlusal-TMJ Treatment for dental patients.
Dr. Frazelle resides in Wrightsville Beach, where his hobbies include surfing and motorcycles. He and his wife, Anna, have two daughters, Hannah and Kirsten.

Dr. Carter Lee
Dr. Lee joined Atlantic Dental Group in 1996. He graduated from UNC-Chapel as an undergraduate in 1988 with his degree in Industrial Relations/Economics. He went on to attend UNC-CH Dental School and graduated in 1996.
Dr. Lee is currently a member of the Tri-County Dental Society, as well as the Implant Study Club. Dr. Lee has a special interest in implants and cosmetics, as well as all restorative dentistry. He regularly attends continuing education, keeping up with the latest innovations in dentistry.
Dr. Lee is an active member of First Baptist Church here in Wilmington. He has been married since 2000 and has two children. Born in Wilson, NC, Dr. Lee moved to Wilmington in 1996. He loves boating, hunting, fishing, and is an avid Tar Heels fan.

Dr. Joshua Winneberger
Dr. Winneberger was born and raised here in Wilmington, NC. He received a B.S. In Biology from Wake Forest University in 2012 and Doctorate of Dental Medicine from East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine in 2016. Dr. Winneberger went on to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the Temple, Texas VA which allowed him to receive advanced training in implants, surgery, IV Sedation and restorative dentistry.
Dr. Winneberger is excited to return and practice near the beach. Some of his favorite hobbies include surfing, snowboarding, traveling, beach volleyball, exploring new breweries and enjoying time with friends and family. He also has an extremely well-trained 3 year old Pug named Lilo.
Dr. Josh Winneberger prides himself on high quality dentistry and developing long and trusting relationships with his patients and team. In order to better serve his patients, he has taken extensive continuing education, including but not limited to:
- Spear Education courses in comprehensive dentistry
- The Pankey Institute Essentials 1 continuum
- Blue Sky Bio Implants Advanced Hands on Training for 3D implant planning and guided implantology
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification
- Fellowship of the Academy of General Dentistry exam
- Oral and IV sedation training under David Canfield DMD MS
He is a member of the ADA, AAID,AGD, NCDS, Pankey Alumni Association, and Blue Sky Bio Academy and is currently working toward advanced general and implant credentialing
Dr. Hal Smith
After successfully practicing general dentistry in Chapel Hill for 30 years, Dr. Smith retired from full time practice and moved to Wilmington in 2006. He maintained his dental license and continued working a few days each month filling in for local dentists. In January of 2017, he joined Atlantic Dental Group as the Director of their Dental Sleep Medicine program.
In addition to a wealth of valuable practice experience, Dr. Smith has received extensive advanced training in Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Dental Sleep Medicine over the last year and recently completed the Dental Sleep Medicine Mini-Residency program at the UNC School of Dentistry. He is currently seeking diplomate status with the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and looks forward to being actively engaged in this new and exciting treatment protocol. He describes Dental Sleep Medicine as a perfect blend of medicine and dentistry.
Dr. Smith lives in Wilmington with his wife Dawn, who is an assistant principal for the New Hanover County School System, and their three dogs and cat. He enjoys playing guitar, cheering for the Tarheels and playing with the family pets.
