All-on-4 Dental Implants in Oak Island, NC
A full arch of fixed teeth, anchored on four implants and placed in a single day. It is for people who have lost most of an arch, or are being told they are about to, and who do not want a denture that comes out at night.
- Three doctors, one location
- Sedation available
- Most major plans accepted
- Written estimates before treatment
The basics of All-on-4
The technique angles the two back implants to catch the dense bone at the front of the jaw. That angle is what makes it work for people who were told years ago they did not have enough bone for implants.
This treatment in Oak Island
Oak Island holds about 8,400 year-round residents and swells toward 50,000 in July, with roughly a third of the permanent population over 65.
Year-round residents in a seasonal town often go years between visits because the summer is too busy and the winter feels like the wrong time to start. Restorative work planned in the off-season avoids both problems.
It is the longest regular drive in our service area, so Oak Island treatment plans are built around minimizing the number of visits.
A third of the permanent population is over 65, which is why so much of what we do here is restorative rather than preventive.
Oak Island's year-round population of around 8,400 swells toward 50,000 in July, and the practical dental needs of those two populations are completely different.
We see patients from across Oak Island and the surrounding area, including the Oak Island Lighthouse, Fort Caswell, Ocean Crest Pier and the 28465 ZIP code.
Brunswick County is the fastest-growing county in North Carolina and the sixth fastest in the country, up about a quarter since 2020, and 35 percent of residents are 65 or older. That combination, rapid in-migration and an older population, is why so much of our Brunswick caseload is restorative.
Start large treatment in the autumn. The planning and provisional phases run through the quiet months and the finished result is in place before the season picks up.
It is the longest drive in our service area, so we consolidate: consults, records and treatment planned to minimize the number of trips.
You may be a candidate if
- You are missing most or all of the teeth in an arch
- Your current denture moves, rubs, or needs adhesive to stay put
- You have been told there is not enough bone for conventional implants
- You want teeth that stay in your mouth overnight
- You would rather solve this once than keep relining a denture
How the treatment runs
- Records and 3D planningCone beam scan, photos and impressions. We map implant positions digitally before surgery day.
- Surgery dayRemaining teeth come out, four implants go in, and a fixed temporary bridge is attached. Sedation is standard for this appointment.
- Soft diet and healingRoughly three months while the implants integrate. We see you along the way.
- Final bridgeNew records, then a definitive bridge built for your bite and your face.
Afterwards
Expect swelling for several days and a soft diet for a few weeks. You will clean under the bridge daily with a water flosser and a threader, and we will show you how before you leave. Twice-yearly maintenance visits keep the tissue underneath healthy.
If you are away for part of the year, tell us your dates at the start and we will build the schedule around them.
What it costs
Full arch treatment is a single large investment rather than a series of small ones, and the quote covers surgery, the temporary and the final bridge. We put the whole number in writing at the consultation and walk through third-party financing so you can see the monthly figure before deciding.
If your income is seasonal, say so at the consultation. We can time treatment phases to the part of the year that suits your cash flow.

Questions we get asked
Do I leave with teeth the same day?
Yes. A fixed provisional bridge goes on at the surgery appointment. It is not the final restoration, and it looks and functions like teeth while you heal.
Is All-on-4 the same as a snap-in denture?
No. A snap-in overdenture clips onto implants and you remove it to clean. An All-on-4 bridge is screwed down and stays in your mouth.
How far is your office from Oak Island?
About 39 miles, or roughly 55 minutes via NC-211 to US-17 North, then US-74/76 over the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge. We are at 1301 Physicians Dr in Wilmington, with parking at the door.
Do you see patients from Oak Island?
