Dr. Josh Winneberger, D.M.D., F.A.G.D.
I first got into dentistry through mission trips, with the goal of helping others become healthier and happier, and I could not be more fulfilled than to make that happen here with our family at Atlantic Dental Group. Dr. Josh Winneberger was born and raised in Wilmington and has been a patient at Atlantic Dental Group since 2006. After graduating from Hoggard High School he received a B.S. in Biology from Wake Forest University in 2012, and his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine in 2016.
He went on to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the VA in Temple, Texas, which gave him advanced training in dental implants, surgery, IV sedation, sleep apnea and complex restorative dentistry.
Dr. Winneberger prides himself on delivering high-quality dentistry and on building long-lasting, trusting relationships with his patients and his team.

- Kois Center Graduate (2024): treatment planning and functional occlusion, managing the restorative and periodontal interface, biomechanics, fixed and removable implants, advanced functional occlusion and advanced treatment planning
- The Pankey Institute Essentials 1 Continuum: aesthetic and functional treatment planning
- Blue Sky Bio Implants advanced hands-on training in 3D implant planning and guided implantology
- Oral and IV sedation training under dental anesthesiologist David Canfield, D.M.D., M.S.

Outside the practice
Dr. Winneberger enjoys being near the beach and anything water related. His hobbies include surfing, snowboarding, golf, travelling, beach volleyball and pickleball, and time with his wife Jennifer, their son Maverick and daughter Hannah.
