Dentures in Leland, NC
A well-made denture restores chewing and the shape of the lower face. A poorly made one is the reason people give up on dentures altogether.
- Three doctors, one location
- Sedation available
- Most major plans accepted
- Written estimates before treatment
The basics of dentures
We make full dentures, partials, and implant-retained overdentures that snap onto two or more implants. That last option is what we recommend most often for a lower arch, because a lower full denture has little ridge to hold on to.
Patients from Leland
Leland is the fastest-growing town in the fastest-growing county in North Carolina, and roughly a third of residents are 65 or older.
Most of the restorative work we do for this community is second-generation: replacing crowns and bridges placed twenty or thirty years ago that have finally given out. The question is rarely whether to treat it, it is whether to keep patching or rebuild properly.
The Cape Fear Memorial Bridge is the whole conversation for Leland patients, and we are the first practice on the Wilmington side of it.
Half of Leland arrived in the last decade, which means a lot of our new patients here are transferring records from another state rather than another practice.
Brunswick Forest, Compass Pointe, Magnolia Greens and Waterford between them account for a large share of the town's households, and most of them are new construction.
We see patients from across Leland and the surrounding area, including Brunswick Forest, Compass Pointe, Magnolia Greens and the 28451 and 28479 ZIP codes.
Brunswick County is the fastest-growing county in North Carolina and the sixth fastest in the country, up about a quarter since 2020, and 35 percent of residents are 65 or older. That combination, rapid in-migration and an older population, is why so much of our Brunswick caseload is restorative.
We will tell you honestly whether this is worth doing now or whether it can be watched for a year, and we will say which of your existing work is likely to fail next.
We are the first dental practice across the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, which makes us closer to most of Leland than anything on the Brunswick side of the river.
You may be a candidate if
- You are missing all the teeth in an arch
- You are missing several teeth and want one appliance to replace them
- Your current denture is loose, sore, or needs adhesive daily
- Implants are outside what you want to take on right now
- You want the option to add implant retention later
The sequence of appointments
- Assessment and recordsWe examine the ridges and tissue, then take impressions.
- Try-inYou see the teeth set in wax and approve shape, shade and midline before anything is processed.
- DeliveryThe finished denture is fitted and adjusted.
- AdjustmentsTwo or three short visits over the following weeks. This part is expected and included.
Afterwards
Take them out at night. Clean them over a folded towel or a basin of water so a drop does not become a remake. Come back when they start to feel loose rather than waiting until a sore spot has become an ulcer.
If getting to follow-up visits is difficult, tell us. We can often combine checks into fewer, longer appointments.
What it costs
Dentures span a wide range depending on whether they are immediate, conventional or implant-retained. Many plans include a denture benefit on a multi-year cycle. We check that cycle before quoting, and we lay out what adding implant retention later would cost so you can decide with the full picture.
If you are on Medicare, note that it does not cover routine dental treatment. Many supplement plans include a limited dental benefit with an annual cap, and we will check yours before quoting anything.

Questions we get asked
Can dentures be attached to implants?
Yes. Two implants transform the stability of a lower denture, and it is the single upgrade most patients say they wish they had done sooner.
How often do dentures need replacing?
Relines every few years, full replacement somewhere around the seven to ten year mark, sooner if the ridge has changed a lot.
How far is your office from Leland?
